Website ICP Filing Domain Name Verification Rules

This notice is in accordance with the Notice of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on standardizing the use of domain names for internet information services.
Domain name owner information should align perfectly with the ICP filing entity information (entity name, entity document type, entity document number) for domain name verification to pass.
Website ICP Filing Domain Name Verification Rules
The following conditions must all be met for a website ICP filing domain name verification pass.
- The top-level domain corresponding to the website’s ICP filing must be a top-level domain approved by MIIT. See the publicity of the approval situation of internet domain name registration management institutions.
- The website ICP filing domain name must be registered and managed through an MIIT approved domain name registration service agency. Check approved domain name registration service agencies.
- The website ICP filing domain name registration validity period (based on the time shown in query results from the domain name registration service agency).
- The ICP filing domain name of the website should be a domain name that has passed the real-name authentication of the domain name service provider.
- The ICP filing entity information reported during the application should match the real-name authentication information of the domain name registrant (domain name holder).
- Individual filing: The ICP filing entity principal should match the real-name authenticated information of the domain name registrant (domain name holder) (information matched: name, document type, document number).
- Institutional filing: The ICP filing entity information (sponsor or entity principal) should match the real-name authenticated information of the domain name registrant (domain name holder) (information matched: name, document type, document number).
- If the real-name authentication information of the domain name registrant (domain name holder) doesn’t align with the entity principal information, relevant proof documents can be uploaded to the ICP filing system (supported only in some provinces).
- If your ICP filing is returned due to domain name verification issues, please check above 5 conditions are all fulfilled.
