Multi-Year Certificate FAQs
1. Why is the certificate validity only one year for the purchased multi-year certificate?
Due to the Apple browser’s requirements for certificates, the SSL certificate validity does not exceed 398 days (13 months). A multi-year certificate issues a valid certificate for one year at a time. After each year’s verification is completed, the certificate is automatically issued. Customers need to re-download and deploy the certificate.
Verification process:
First year: Business identity verification + domain name verification
Second year: Domain name verification (the validity of corporate identity is 398 days, and only the domain name ownership needs to be verified in the second year)
Third year: Business identity verification + domain name verification
2. Will there be a second charge for subsequent verification of multi-year certificates?
Multi-year certificates are charged only once, and there will be no second charge later
