Image
An Image serves as a template for the operating environment of a UPHost instance, containing the operating system, pre-installed software, and configurations.
Images are divided into two categories:
- Standard Images: Provided by XXXCloud officially, including various operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
- Custom Images: Dedicated images created by users through their UPHost instances, which are only visible to the users themselves.
Custom Images
UPHost uses smart network cards and RSSD cloud disk technology. For Linux images, through testing, the standard CentOS image uses the 3.10.0 kernel, and the Ubuntu image uses the 5.4 kernel.
When creating custom images, please pay attention to the following points:
- Do not upgrade the kernel unless necessary. Kernel upgrades may cause incompatibility with smart network card drivers, leading to issues such as machine failure to boot or system instability. If upgrades are required, please contact sales or technical support for consultation.
- The base system has a root partition and a boot partition. The boot partition is a UEFI boot partition and must not be modified. Modifications will cause the machine to fail to boot.
- The base image of UPHost is pre-installed with a customized XXXCloud version of cloud-init, which is essential for machine initialization. Do not uninstall or modify cloud-init.
- The UPHost must remain powered off during image creation. Therefore, please pause current tasks to prevent service disruptions caused by accidental interruptions.
- UPHost images and UHost images are not interoperable. Currently, cloud disk UPHost images support CentOS, Ubuntu, and Windows, while local disk UPHost images support CentOS and Ubuntu.
