Operation GuideInstance Management

Instance Management

Start MongoDB Instance

To start a stopped MongoDB instance, first select the MongoDB instance you wish to start. Then, in the operations column on the right, click the “Start” button. In the confirmation dialog that pops up, select “Confirm” to successfully start the MongoDB instance.

Restart MongoDB instance

Go to the product home page, find the appropriate instance in the list, click the advanced button under the “Operation” column, then click “Restart”.

Shutdown MongoDB instance

Go to the product home page, find the appropriate instance in the list, click the advanced button under the “Operation” column, then click “Shutdown”.

Delete MongoDB Instance

Single Instance Deletion

Go to the product home page, find the appropriate instance in the list, click the advanced button under the “Operation” column, and then click “Delete”.

Batch Deletion

Go to the product home page, select multiple instances in the list, then click Delete in the bulk operations bar.

Change Remarks and Name

Go to the product home page, find the corresponding instance in the list, click on “Modify name and remarks” under the “Name” column, the “Modify name and remarks” window will pop up, after changes, just confirm.

Reset Password

Go to the product home page, find the appropriate instance in the list, click the advanced button under the “Operation” column, then click “Reset Password”.

The “Reset Database Password” dialog will appear, enter the new password and click “OK” to complete the password reset operation.

Change Configuration

Go to the product home page, find the appropriate instance in the list, click the advanced button under the “Operation” column, then click “Change Configuration”.

Adjust to the target CPU specifications and disk capacity, click “Change Configuration”, make the payment, and the cluster enters the “Upgrading/Downgrading” status.

After a while, the cluster will revert to its state prior to the configuration changes, completing the configuration adjustments.

Note:

  1. During the configuration change process, each node in the cluster that needs to be upgraded or downgraded will complete the configuration adjustment in turn, and the corresponding database services will be shut down and started during this process.
  2. Since some nodes may not be available during the upgrade/downgrade period (the cluster as a whole is available at this time), please perform this operation during the off-peak business period.
  3. During the “Upgrading/Downgrading” period of the cluster, the cluster cannot execute operations such as start, restart, shut down, and delete.

Expand/Shrink Nodes

Go to the product home page, find the appropriate instance in the list, click the Advanced button under the Operation column, and then click “Expand/Collapse Nodes”.

The sharding set supports adjustment of “Number of shards”, “Nodes in a shard”, “Number of routing nodes”, while the replication set only supports the adjustment of “Number of nodes”. Only one property can be adjusted at a time.

After adjusting the corresponding property number, click “Change Configuration”, complete the payment, and the cluster enters the “Upgrading/Downgrading” status.

After a period of time, the cluster will return to an operational state, completing the scaling of nodes.

Note:

  1. The expansion/shrinkage of nodes may lead to an increase in the load on some nodes, so please perform this operation during the off-peak business period.
  2. During the “Upgrading/Downgrading” period of the cluster, the cluster cannot execute operations such as start, restart, shut down, and delete.

Detail Page

Go to the product home page, find the corresponding instance in the list, click the “Details” button under the “Operation” column.

In the details page, you can see various information about the current cluster, such as: Basic information, Configuration information, Payment information, Node-related information, Monitoring information, etc. The details page also supports operations like “Shutdown”, “Restart”, “Delete”, “Reset Password”.

Parameter Management

Click on the parameter management at the top of the details page, you can manage the configuration parameters of the current cluster. The parameter list shows the corresponding node type, parameter value, parameter range, etc.

Click the “Modify Parameter” button, and the parameter value column becomes editable. You can modify the parameter value.

After editing, click the “Save” button at the top. A “Modification Confirmation” window pops up, showing the parameter values before and after the modification. After checking the restart confirmation, click “OK” to start modifying the parameters of the cluster.

Note:

  1. The cluster is initialized with a parameter template when it is created, and the parameters in the cluster and the parameter templates do not affect each other after that. Therefore, changing the parameter template will not affect the cluster parameters, and similarly, changing the cluster parameters will not affect the original parameter template.
  2. The process of modifying cluster parameters may cause the node to restart, affecting overall cluster performance, so please operate during off-peak business periods.
