step4 Start Migration
Launch the task
After the migration task is created, click the start button on the to-be-started task interface to officially start the migration.
At this time, USMC will generate a usmc-stopover-do-not-delete transit machine under the user console to assist in migration, please do not perform any operations on it.
Click on task details to view progress, status and other information.
If the increment is not turned on, after the data transfer, the host will be automatically created and the migration will be completed.
Create a Cloud Host (Optional)
In the scenario of enabling increment, in the to-be-created host interface, the user needs to click on create host during the window between two increments to complete the migration.
After the migration is successfully completed, the usmc’s task can be deleted, which will not affect the target cloud host.
Simple Verification
On the cloud host interface of the console, you can see a cloud host noted as usmc-task-ba797218, this is the target machine for migration.
Verification steps:
- vnc login to check if OS is properly lifted
- From local ping and ssh to the target machine, ping the internal/external ip within the machine, to confirm the network is normal
- Test the client’s own business.
