Automatic Renewal
1. Automatic Renewal Rules
To enhance the customer experience, the renewal logic of pre-paid resources has been adjusted as follows since June 27, 2019:
Annual and monthly resources (except for DDoS Protection products) will automatically renew within 24 hours after expiration. If the renewal fails, they will be reclaimed.
Time-based resources (except for DDoS Protection products) will automatically renew within 1 hour after expiration. If the renewal fails, they will be reclaimed.
To facilitate settlement, the renewal period for automatic renewal has been adjusted as follows since May 5, 2019:
For monthly pre-paid resources (except for DDoS Protection products), if sufficient funds are available, the first automatic renewal will renew until the end of the month, with subsequent renewals happening at the end of each calendar month. For instance, if a network resource due for monthly renewal is about to expire and it’s auto-renewed for the first time at 17:58 on 15-May-2019, the system will auto-renew it until 00:00:00 on 01-Jun-2019. Subsequent auto-renewals will happen at the end of each calendar month, so the next renewal period for this resource will be 00:00:00 on 01-Jun-2019 - 00:00:00 on 01-Jul-2019.
For time-based pre-paid resources (except for DDoS Protection products), if there are sufficient funds, the first automatic renewal will first align with the nearest whole hour. To avoid impact to business operations due to system reclamation, time-based resources which had not turned on auto-renewal will default to auto-on after manual renewals.
If the available balance of the account is insufficient at renewal, the automatic renewal operation will be postponed until the next day, until the renewal is complete.
If the renewal is still not complete when the resource expires, an overdue and unpaid order will be created daily. After the user tops up, it will continue the previous renewal cycle and cancel these orders.
2. Enable “Automatic Renewal Switch”
After you purchase a product, you can view the “Automatic Renewal Switch” for this resource in Finance Center > Renewal Management
Once the “Automatic Renewal Switch” is turned on, when your account balance is sufficient, the system will automatically renew your resource when it is about to expire. It should be pointed out that automatic renewal is done based on previous configurations and durations. When the balance of your account isn’t sufficient, the system will fail to charge when the resource is due, and the resource status will be shown as “Expired”. You can perform “Manual Renewal” after topping up.
Example 1: You purchased a specified UHost configuration for 30 days on May 8th, worth 120 yuan. You have turned on the “Automatic Renewal Switch” during purchase, then the system will automatically renew it on June 7th when it is about to expire.
Example 2: If you purchased the UHost with a specified configuration for 30 days on May 8th, which costs 120 yuan. You have turned on the “Automatic Renewal Switch” during purchase. On June 7th, when the system is about to auto-renew your subscription, there might not be enough balance in your account to pay, which will result in a failed transaction.
3. Turn off “Automatic Renewal Switch”
By turning off the “Automatic Renewal Switch”, resources will automatically enter into a state of overdue payment upon expiry. The system will remind you about the expiration of resources and renewal matters. The system will not release user resources at this time, and users can manually renew. Users can select the renewal cycle again when renewing. If the user does not recharge and manually renew, the deduction will fail, and the resource status will be displayed as “Expired”.
Example: If you purchased a UHost with specified configuration for 30 days on May 8th, worth 120 yuan. After purchase, you turned off the “Automatic Renewal Switch”. Then the resources will enter the overdue status on May 7th when they are about to expire.
