Resource Monitoring
1. Introduction to Resource Monitoring
”Resource Monitoring” is a display panel for monitoring indicators in the monitoring center. It can provide a quick lookup of the current value, historical value, and comparison view of a single indicator of multiple resources for each instance according to the product dimension. And it can set alarms to quickly bind alarm templates to each resource, so as to realize the alarm notification when the threshold is triggered, and quickly locate the cause of the fault.
2. Basic Operation of Resource Monitoring
2.1 Resource List
In the resource monitoring list, it provides a basic presentation of monitoring data. You can choose the desired resources to view through the resource type in the upper left corner of the page, and filter the selected resource type through the filter box.
As shown above, the monitoring list of cloud hosts provides five monitoring indicators: “CPU Usage”, “Network Card In/Out Bandwidth”, and “Disk Read/Write Throughput”. The rest of the monitoring indicators can be viewed in detail on the resource monitoring icon page by clicking the “Data View” button.
2.2 Data View
Click the “Data View” button in the resource list to enter the detailed data view page of the selected resource.
On the data view page, it will display the monitoring image of all monitoring indicators of the currently selected resource in the last 1 hour by default, providing a quick view of the monitoring image for 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 7 days, and 15 days. Moreover, users can select the time for query based on their needs.
Note: The cloud host in the picture contains 16 monitoring indicators. Some of the monitoring indicators need to install the monitoring agent to report data. If you need to install the monitoring agent for the cloud host, please refer to Monitoring Agent.
2.3 Comparison Chart
In addition to the “Resource List” tab in the resource monitoring page, the “Comparison Chart” function of multiple resources is also provided, which is used to compare the view of a certain monitoring indicator of multiple resources.
Click on the “Comparison Chart” tab to enter, create a comparison chart by selecting “Resources” and “Monitoring Indicators” two dimensions, and provide viewing options for different time periods.
Note: Currently, the comparison view supports up to 15 resources indicator comparison charts.
2.4 Setting Alarms
In addition to viewing data and views of monitoring, resource monitoring provides the function of setting alarms for resources in batches, that is, “Setting Alarm Templates”.
Select resources and click “Setting Alarm Templates” to manage alarm templates bound to the resources.
Note: The alarm setting adopts the method of binding alarm templates. We provide default alarm templates for each type of resource. Users can create or copy new templates according to their needs, so as to add custom monitoring thresholds.
After setting up, you can view the alarm templates bound to the current resource in the resource list.
Note: For alarm template operation, see Alarm Template
